One of the most exciting moments for me is when I check the weather app and I realize that temperatures are starting to get lower than shawty with the Apple Bottom Jeans AND the boots with the fur.

While I love the colder months, my skin isn't as big of a fan. Between the temperatures dropping and the heat blasting 24/7, my skin can get a little stressed out.

The colder months are already stressful enough without adding skin concerns to the list, so I rounded up some of my tried and true tips to make sure my skin stays healthy during this time!

While I'm not a licensed dermatologist (sorry Mom and Dad) I hope that these tips help you to keep up that summer glow even in the middle of winter.

Switch to a thicker nighttime moisturizer. My moisturizer during winter is thick with at least 3 C's. I'll use Vaseline on extra dry patches of skin to help them heal faster.

Lip Service. I carry a ridiculous amount of lip balm with me because there is no greater hell than having dry lips but no lip balm. At night, I use C.O. Bigelow's Rose Salve on my lips to give them some extra TLC while I sleep.

Face Masks! I L O V E face masks and hydrating ones are my lifeline during the colder months. Some of the best hydrating masks I've used have coconut oil in them, my favorite is Yes To Coconut Ultra Hydrating Facial Mask! It's incredibly moisturizing and the coconut scent makes me want a pinã colada real bad.

Hoard Lotion. My hands are the first casualty when below freezing temperatures hit. Mainly because I refuse to wear anything other than fingerless gloves because of the ~aesthetic~. To combat this, I have travel sized bottles of lotion every where. At my desk, by my bed, all of my purses, even in my car.  I'm like a traveling Bath and Body Works store.

Use bronzer to maintain that summer ~glow~. I use a lighter shade of bronzer in the winter since I'm not as tan (as tan as a redhead can get) as I am in the summer. Adding a little bit to my nose, under my cheekbones and along my forehead help me not resemble the ghost of a small Victorian girl.

Moisturize right after showering. Personally, I love Gold Balm Ultimate Rough & Bumpy Skin Daily Therapy Cream. I definitely can't forget this step after I shower considering I use the hottest water possible which leads me to my next tip;

Tone down the scalding hot showers.I have never actually tried this tip because you can pry my "Sauna with the Devil" water temperature showers out of my pruny hands. If you have tried lukewarm showers before, let me know if they're worth giving up my toasty showers.

Don't forget the sunscreen!This one is hard for me to remember, especially since I feel like I haven't seen the sun in years by the time February rolls around. To help me remember, I use a moisturizer with SPF so my pale skin doesn't suffer. I use Up&Up Illuminating Daily Moisturizer with SPF 15.
