Hello everybody and welcome to our new segment called, Monthly Music.

*Cue the confetti cannons and the unfurling of a poorly made banner that says "Monthly Music"*

Every month, I'll compile a playlist of tunes that fit the Mood™️ of said month and hopefully it'll be a pleasant experience for your ear holes.

For October I definitely wanted more folksy, slow tunes to match the coffee drinking, sweater wearing days we have ahead of us.

(My original plan was to put Hozier's entire discography into a playlist and call it a day but my team said that was "lazy" and wouldn't be "good content" but how is Hozier NOT good content??)

But I digress.

Since this will be a monthly endeavor, we've launched our own Spotify account so we can make playlists for any occasion.

Dance Party? We have it. Pump up jams? Obviously. Melancholy songs to listen to when you're driving in the car and want to dramatically lip sing along to like you're in a music video? *Peter Kavinsky voice* Girl, come on, you know I already got it.

Give us a follow on Spotify and stream the October playlist on Spotify HERE

With all that being said, enjoy this playlist that only has one (1) Hozier song which is showing considerable restraint for me!

 The Hurricane's Eye-Jesse Roper

This song starts off soothing and then BAM it's like being smacked in the face with a fiddle.

This Town-Niall Horan

In this house we love and respect all of the 1D members solo career's but THIS HIATUS HAS GONE ON FOR LONG ENOUGH, WHERE'S THE 1D REUNION WE DESERVE.

 Roslyn-Bon Iver and St. Vincent

The New Moon soundtrack is one of the best soundtracks we've ever been blessed with send tweet.

 Singin' My Soul-Gin Wigmore

The amount of times I've pretended to sing this song to a past lover while I slow motion walk through a field in a long vintage dress is getting out of hand.

Landslide-Dixie Chicks

You can't just play this song randomly. You have to consciously choose to listen to this song, light some candles, lie down on your bed and be willing to come to terms with your own mortality before you press play on this bad boy.

Moment's Silence (Common Tongue)-Hozier

I needed something a little more upbeat after crying about how time makes me bolder, children get older and I'm getting older too. Is it possible to go hard to a Hozier song? Because I have absolutely gone hard to this song.

I Will Follow You Into the Dark-Death Cab for Cutie

Did anyone else play this song on repeat in middle school when they had a crush? And still do? Or is that something only my weird, emo self does? Just me? I'll see myself out.

Nothing to Remember-Neko Case

Filed under; songs I like to sing along with because they make me feel like a better singer than I really am.

Such Great Heights-Iron & Wine

The ultimate Sad Boi Fall Song.

 After the Storm-Mumford & Sons

Mumford & Sons, that wild son of a gun, they sure do love banjos.

All the Hidden Bobby Pins-P.M. Buys

If my exes were to write a book about me, "All the Hidden Bobby Pins" would DEFINITELY be the title of it. (Side note, exes, please do not write a book about me plz and thank you.)

Leaves in the River-Sea Wolf

Sad lyrics about a lost love?? Simple acoustic guitar?? The sound of rain in the background?? Get you a song that does all three.

Angels & Demons-Noah Reid

We've made a few jokes, had a few laughs but I'm about to get serious. I love this song so much and it is truly the perfect autumnal song.

Wish You Were Here-The Milk Carton Kids

I'm going to reveal my true ignorance for a second; I did not know this was a cover of a Pink Floyd song until I typed the title into Youtube. Stay in school guys.

Charlie Boy-The Lumineers

This song inexplicably makes me want to dress up as a young man during the Civil War and walk through a forest?? Idk what it means but if you see me wandering around a forest dressed in 1800's period garb, just know it was because I listened to this song one too many times.

Ain't No Grave Gonna Hold My Body Down- Charlie Parr

I wanted to end this playlist on an upbeat note and what's more upbeat than a song that makes you want to sit on a back porch, drinking moonshine and wearing flannel?

Any other songs you would have added to this playlist? Let me know in the comments!
